Review on Portable acoustics Sony SRS-X5 20 W by Ka Sem ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and quality product, but there are flaws.

Excellent strict design and good build quality are combined in a strange way with the youth orientation of the sound of this column. With a slight exaggeration, this column can be called a boom box. Low frequencies noticeably predominate over medium and, especially, over high frequencies. The bass can be described more as thumping and humming, lacking elasticity, speed and detail. The "Sound" button slightly corrects the situation. Choosing to prioritize sound quality over connection stability (pressing the "Vol +" and power buttons) does not work. I listen to Smooth Jazz and thumping bass drown out the sounds of saxophone, guitar, piano, violin. We have to raise the high frequencies with the equalizer from the tablet, but then they become sharp, "click", the details disappear. And then you remember that this is a small portable speaker, and not a stationary Hi-Fi system. And for a portable speaker, the sound quality is very good, while fans of "boom-boom-boom-boom" music will be completely delighted.

Pros
  • - excellent appearance, very good build quality; - powerful bass.
Cons
  • - lack of high frequencies and their detail.
