Avoid panels coated with toxic and non-biodegradable chemicals!

I bought this product after reading the description that the plates were "eco-friendly", "biodegradable", "100% compostable" in been misled. I was surprised to see that the plates don't absorb oil and grease. After some research, I found that the vast majority of these plant fiberboards use PFAS coatings for water and oil resistance. I have emailed the manufacturer twice and received no response, which increases my suspicions. I encourage you to do your own research: PFAS is a family of chemicals that are extremely persistent in the environment, non-biodegradable, can be ingested, and have potentially adverse effects on the environment and human health, as stated in the US. Canadian, EU environmental agencies. The government is (slowly) taking steps to regulate them. The problem with this company is that the product description is misleading. They call them "green", "biodegradable", "compostable", show pictures of happy whales, etc. They provide certificates but do not refer to the use of toxic PFAS. Since the company doesn't explicitly disclose whether it uses PFAS covers, all of its claims could be just the opposite. So do yourself a favor and AVOID THEM, DON'T POLLUTE YOURSELF, OUR SOIL AND WATER WITH TOXIC WASTE FROM PAPER PLATES CONTAMINATED WITH PFAS.
