24 inch size and actual inner size

The size 24 inch perfectly fits my 5.6 kg small cat according to air travel size standards. However, it wasn't big enough for my larger 14 lb cat. I just ordered one to be sure, so don't be foolish. I ordered him a 28 inch model which I know will be perfect. It's very durable and I love that it comes with metal screws. Sizes are exactly as stated. Decrease approximately 1/2 inch long and 1/2-1/4 inch high and you get the true internal measurements of this kennel. However, the opening is smaller than expected.
