I have a 42" waist and usually wear 16w and sometimes 18w in pants. I ordered 36-41" straps because I was concerned that going up a size would be too big. A lot of people have commented on how stretchy they are, so I figured I'd be sure. They're quite stretchy, but one thing that what can happen is that if you order a size down and just trust the opening on the belt will start to tear or look stretched, if I were to order again I would probably go up a size don't slip and hold up well.I definitely recommend it.
