I have heavy suppination AND flat, wide feet. On the outside of my feet, initially and often, my shoes would start to literally fold outwards because my feet were too wide and the shoes would allow my feet to roll outwards. These shoes do exactly the opposite. They roll inwards and have no protruding arch inside. If anything, I'd say they roll my feet outward and almost wrap them up a bit more than they have to. Ultimately, I wanted a shoe that would accept my situation and make it neutral. It was ideal, but it was a nice change of pace from the deformed look of how my other shoes ended up! Lots of room for wide legs. Almost too much space. The long ones fit well, the 4x was almost overkill as 2x fits me, but they only come in regular and 4x. The heel pad is a surprise as the gel in Contend 6 is great and literally healed my plantar fasciitis. it was so bad b4 i got these shoes i couldnt walk any distance without a lot of pain even for shopping. after a month it's gone in them and I walk and run in them with no problems. Finally I tried the Contend 7 and this back to back and the 7 version looks similar but is significantly stiffer in the pad. Day and night difference! Remember, if you want the jackpot, try Contend 6 and stay away from 7.
