Review on πŸƒ Timex Metropolitan+ Smart Watch: The Perfect Activity Tracker for Fitness Enthusiasts by Jason Franco

Good clock, shaky sync app.

It took me almost a whole day to get this watch working. I started by trying to sync it with the Timex app running on the iPhone. It synced at 73%, after that there was an error. Have done this several times. Then I downloaded the app to my Android device and tried again. The app told me that the watch needs a firmware update. I tried to update the firmware, the clock updated from 4 to 22% and then gave a lot of errors. I called customer service and emailed them, no joy so far. So the watch was bricked with a partially updated firmware. I have a feeling that my Android device may be having Bluetooth connection issues. Laughing, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the iPhone, the app recognized that the watch hadn't fully loaded the firmware and proceeded to complete the update. The clock is now running perfectly. I held my breath to see how well it works with data syncing. So far I have given this watch three stars. If he continues to be hard, I will give him more. It's a good looking watch with a nice well-made design, it just comes with shaky timing software. Oh those technologies. A week later, I synced my watch multiple times to the Timex app on my iPhone. The clock has synchronized perfectly so far. Adding a star. It seems that setting the clock and updating the firmware is a big problem. Hopefully Timex will fix these issues and give the watch a stable app. The watch itself is clean, well designed, has a stylish look and still works well. Two months have passed. The clock still works. It syncs well with the Timex app on my iPhone. I've noticed that the watch sometimes measures sleep time when I'm not wearing it to bed. In any case, I'm not interested in measuring sleep. I attached a silicone strap to make it more comfortable for everyday use. The strap sold by Timex for this watch fits better than the leather strap that came with it. Aside from the minor flaws mentioned above, the watch works well. The tracking app, while fiddly to set up, tracks activity, is very basic compared to the Fitbit app I've used before. The watch does not measure heart rate. And it has to be manually put into Bluetooth mode to sync, and it only stays in Bluetooth mode long enough to sync data, which helps extend battery life. It tracks steps, distance, calories, and sleep over days, weeks, months, and years, and offers a fine-tuning feature for adjusting stride length that will likely take some experimentation to get right. Additionally, the watch works as advertised, but it will take patience to resolve any firmware issues that may arise during the initial setup. Don't contact Timex customer service, they are essentially useless. About a month after I requested the service, I received an email from Timex. At that point I had already understood the problem.
