It is bent in a V-shape between the two ends of the hooks. They weren't heavy pants like jeans. Also, some of my hangers are made of durable plastic and the hanger hooks were too thick to fit the slots. not easy when you have to remove four hangers to hang one with the right group. Finally, I think space is saved when you drop a hook off the rod, but you still need to have enough "unused" rod space to bring it back to horizontal. These should be back.
