I bought this to put in the downstairs entryway of my townhouse to listen to some music in the office so I could watch it after can take home. There's something really enticing about coming home to lounge music after a long day. Since there are not enough outlets, I chose this one because of the long battery life as it will play around 10 hours a day. I really wanted to like this radio and just look at all the positive reviews! The design is so clean, understated and modern. Almost Bauhaus in its surprisingly attractive simplicity. Everything but the area around the dial is lightly textured, allowing you to manipulate it (carefully) without spoiling the look with fingerprints. Reception is pretty decent too, as is battery life. It just doesn't sound good. This is a can that obviously uses a tiny and underpowered speaker housed in a plastic case. Sure, that's what it is, and maybe it's good for listening to the radio, but it's terrible for music, and I prefer my iPad Air's speaker. I have a basic Bluetooth speaker that costs ten bucks more and day and night sounds better than this little radio. It's attractive and comfortably small, but the size and battery life come at the expense of fidelity.
