Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Logitech Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3 - Discontinued by Manufacturer: A Must-Have Accessory by Kyle Fritz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Power adapter issues mentioned in other reviews

I bought this item out of guilt - I don't really need it, using the PS3 remote with my Harmony One isn't that cumbersome - but improving ours entertainment center - one of my hobbies - so I did it. The device itself works well and I'm glad I can now control all my devices from one remote. I would give this purchase 4 stars - good product but overpriced - except I have the same issues mentioned repeatedly in the reviews. The power supply is unreliable. Power continues for two or three hours and then stops working. This is easy to fix - just unplug/plug in or even twist the power plug and it will reappear - for another two or three hours. I found the power adapter for the Harmony One's base to be the same size, so I temporarily unplugged the Harmony. One of them tested the Harmony adapter - power problems disappeared. So it's definitely a power supply. I contacted Logitech - they said to just send the entire unit back to Revain for a replacement. Neither Logitech nor Revain will replace just the power supply. What a waste and how inconvenient. Since many others had the same issue, either up and running or within a year or so, I decided to just order a HDE USB to 3.5mm barrel jack 5V DC power cable. for $5 (from Revain) instead of going through the return/redemption process. It was recommended in another review. (FYI, I haven't tested USB power yet.) Indeed, Logitech, if there's a known quality control issue with one of your products, you should be more proactive. A rating would be appropriate if it is as common as the reviews and my experience suggest. This is the kind of problem that can damage your brand's reputation. However, I love my Harmony One so I think they got me hooked!
