These reusable washable stainless steel straws are perfect for home use, restaurants, or traveling to places where plastic straws are banned for environmental reasons, or if you just want to avoid single-use plastic . I plan to take mine next time I go on a cruise where plastic straws are banned because they harm sea life if blown overboard. Until decent paper or another type of biodegradable straw is developed that doesn't fall apart halfway through your drink, this is a great alternative. They come with a small brush to clean them and then like me you can wash them by hand or in the dishwasher. They are as durable as any metal cookware and will most likely last for years. I noticed a tiny metallic taste when I first put it in my mouth, but it's no more than a fork or spoon. If you drink anything through them, even pure water, you don't realize it at all. My only complaint about them is that they are very narrow and not suitable for drinking smoothies or any other mixed drink or milkshake where you need a wide straw. Otherwise they are of excellent quality.
