I had foot surgery a couple months ago, bone restructuring, and am experiencing a significant amount of swelling. I have an overseas trip planned for departure in 2 weeks so I asked my doctor if these socks would help for the long airplane ride. He said give them a try, so I did. Decided to check them out before the trip and after wearing one day my foot showed signs of decreased swelling in day-to-day movement and felt better. So, today I ordered two more pair to take with me. My doctor said because of the trauma to my foot, I would probably experience swelling for up to a year so I see wearing these socks a lot in my future. I wear a size 10 women's shoes and bought the medium and they would perfectly. Yes, I would recommend them, even after trying for just one day.
