I bought this charger to replace the original charger that came with my laptop and finally broke down after years of continuous use. Crate. So far this hasn't caused me any problems. It's worth noting, however, that the actual power cord that comes with the kit (which runs from the outlet to the charger itself) has an oddly shaped plug at the end of the charger, so a regular 3-prong power cord will NOT fit in. . This means that if a cable of this fairly standard type of cable is lost or shorted out, you won't be able to find it locally, nor is it easy to find an exact match online. Idea why the company used such a weird cable configuration when almost every other adapter company in the world uses a standard cable that's easy to replace almost anywhere. I doubt they're trying to make money that way. It's just a weird design flaw. However, the device works exactly as described. Hope this information helps.
