Seems to work great as a replacement for a worn remote for my ceiling fan in Hampton Bay. I was glad that the reverse worked like it did on the old console. The reason for deducting a star was that the instructions said the remote was powered by a 12 volt battery, while the Revain description says 9 volts. This confused me so much that I spent my time looking on the internet to see if there was a 9 volt battery that could fit in the remote control. Just a little annoyance. Another reason I took off a star was that the battery cover was difficult to put back on - I almost broke it trying. However, I was pleased that the 9 volt battery fit easily into the compartment without crushing any of the connections, unlike the original remote which came with a cooling fan.
