Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Highly Efficient Surge Protector: Progressive Industries EMSHW50C by Greg Moore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm glad I have it and will always have a no.

Saved me from a high-frequency problem once. Since I bought my first camper, I've done a lot to protect your camper. One of the things I read a lot was that camping pitches can be very dangerous for backpackers. One of the things people have said is to protect it with a surge protector. Which, well, that was on the consumer. So I went on a long search for the right power protector for my camper. I considered Progressive Industries EMSHW50C Surge Protector and Technology Research 34560-004 50A Hardwire Surge Guard as the two options I wanted. The reasons I wanted a wired device and not a wearable device were simple to me. I didn't want to plug in my portable device every time we camped. I just wanted the system to work automatically when I connect the cable to the socket. Both units had their pros and cons. In the end I chose this progressive as it had been renewed for life and it was a US product. When the device arrived at my house, I opened the box and then selected a location in my RV where it would be hidden, but I was still able to move the remote display to an accessible location. I then had to buy a short piece of 6/3 sweater. This wire is very difficult to work with because it is stiff. Mounted the device, plugged it in, then plugged the camper into an outlet and I had no power! :( I started looking at how I connected the device and found a mistake in my wiring. Yes, I connected it the other way around where I connected the output side to the input. Turn the device back on and waited 15 seconds until the unit checked it for problems and then the unit turned on and found no errors on my power side. Now every time I go camping I plug in my camper, I can check that the socket has no problems I have since sold my old camper and removed the surge protector from that camper and installed it in my new one.The new camper is much more expensive and has much more expensive equipment. This time I have a built in generator and I installed this equipment in front of the switch As the generator already has built in protection against I'm glad I have it and always will no matter what.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
