I am a beginner and have two other scopes, this is my favorite scope because of this StarSense app. Navigating from star to star, from planet to planet is easy and fun. You buy the StarSense app. Full moons make this app useless, and maybe partly cloudy nights depend on how many stars it can find. This dx 102 refractor isn't heavy, which is a plus, but beginner scopes are cheaply made. I say that because the wing nut came loose from the tripod leg in the first week, so I fixed it myself. I've seen Jupiter and its moons, Mars, the rings of Saturn, Venus and some nebulae. When viewing a bright moon, the scope has some incorrect colors around the moon. The cradle is fine, but you have to remove it to cover the legs. I recommend everyone who has no experience in astronomy to try it.
