My decision to purchase a console from Microsoft for this generation was influenced by the excellent hardware design of their Series X console. The SX performs exceptionally well in this regard: the console is completely silent even in the most challenging of sequences, allowing you to play without fear of disturbing others even when it's late at night. For me, the most significant aspect of a product is not only its functionality but also its design. The Sony console reminds me of an ugly Chinese vacuum cleaner that I want to hide away somewhere. In contrast, a device that is located in the living room does not have this problem. The entire controller is terrible; it is made of low-quality plastic and features a clicky cross. As a consequence of this, I play using an Xbox Elite Controller from the first generation, which was compatible and did not cause any issues with the console. The Quick Resume function, which lets you retain many recently begun games in a frozen state and instantly switch between them, was one of the aspects of the game that I particularly loved. It is true that it does not function properly with all games; this includes standalone titles as well as those played over a network. During this time, the console can even be unplugged from its power supply, and the operating system along with the games will go to sleep directly on the SSD. In my perspective, the membership to GamePass that is being marketed is priced way too high. Only games developed in-house at Microsoft studios are guaranteed a place in it (and even then, not all of them), while the remainder of the games are shuffled in a manner that is wholly random. Microsoft does not disclose information about the duration of the games that are included in the subscription; therefore, the length of time that a game is included in a subscription can range anywhere from one year to three months. Additionally, the subscription service is only accessible for the basic editions, thus downloadable content must be purchased individually.
