If your pet is on the borderline and just within the next size up it is definitely better to go smaller. Very loose, my little girl reminds me of so eone that likes to have the seat of their pants halfway down their legs. So much so that she ended up trying to walk INSIDE the onesie. Nice material, very soft, just don’t go by the size guide, it fits very loose
