it is not for your normal home user. If you want to use this for your home, you need to understand the deeper layers of the network. so the product is fantastic. a bunch of devices (printers, NAS, security cameras) on my network, I do NOT want to be exposed to the internet. I just set them up that way. I can use my web domain and security certificates to securely connect to my network and then access my NAS etc. My old router has VPN connectivity, but the level of security was ridiculous compared to this product. Other devices on my network have different levels of Internet access, but these are tightly controlled. I must emphasize that this locking/access control behavior is part of the product and does NOT require the purchase of additional support services. If you want to use web filters, antivirus, DNS filters, etc., you need to purchase recurring support costs. The amount of logging and details about your network, performance and activity is amazing. Is that overkill for a home network? maybe, but when you have kids it's much easier to control access to online content on a given device. Want to block Facebook for your kids but still access Facebook? Set up your child's device so that they cannot access Facebook. It logs the websites you visit so you can better see what your kids are doing etc.
