I was pleasantly surprised that it can be mounted in a 19" computer rack. However, I attached it to the wall of my workshop in the garage; I needed more outlets than I currently have. It is very easy to mount it on the wall as there are screw mounts on both sides. It has a light switch and 9 sockets. It comes with a 6 inch cord which works well for me since I installed it right next to an outlet. Some people may need a longer cable. This is *not* a surge protector, just an extension cord. I would call this strip a mid-range extension. It is rated for up to 15A at 125V. So I only use one tool that uses a lot of power at any given time. It's lightweight and feels a little cheap, but it gets the job done. And it's pretty affordable. It is excellent as a power strip for the home that needs surge protection as well as for light shop loads.
