These thimbles are *unusable* without packaging. The plastic part is SICK. At least it's removable, otherwise they'd go straight to the trash. Unfortunately, even without the plastic part, the thimble is HUGE (literally too big, even for my husband's thumb). I had to use an awl and mat to poke new holes to pull it tight enough so it doesn't fall off, but this leaves a huge ledge of excess material on the back which is really annoying. Even if none of this were the case, the strap is not wide enough and the skin is too thin and slippery to sew by hand. It hurts to pierce the eye of a needle. Very disappointed, I trusted the Clover brand more than this one.
