I think its thickness was acceptable. But it wasn't easy to clean, I had to throw this product away because I just couldn't clean it, but I kept the blanket/pillow it came with and put it under my hamster wheel and a water bottle in her 2nd. floor net . wire cage. Thought this would be a good place to let her rest
