. As you would expect the first few tries were horrible because the instructions weren't that great, they were ok but a few key steps were missing causing my first few prints to fail miserably. After figuring out what I was doing wrong and putting all the right plugs into the right sockets, I had to tighten the tiny screws that turn the long vertical Z-axis, which isn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions, but if you're mechanically inclined, and Your printer moves up erratically/sporadically then look for the reason why, and those tiny screws are the logical thing to tighten, so that's it. moved like typing, and the height kept increasing, but the filament didn't come out. Again I figured that either the printer isn't working properly or it's a filament issue. It was then that I discovered the fact that the filament that comes with the printer is not very good at all, it often clogs. So I pull out the filament and replace it with the free spool of black PLA that was part of the sale. . This material printed terribly but didn't clog as much. Thank goodness I bought three other brands of filament because I knew I needed to print in ABS, PLA, and TPU, so I figured I'd multitask while still finding my favorite brand by buying each type from a different brand. free HICTOP PLA with PLA from another brand and voila. The printer is fine and I'm very happy that it works and prints so well, but I have to be honest - I wouldn't recommend this huge roll of black PLA without HICTOP to anyone. I'd rather not have this confusion about what's wrong and if I don't buy other brands I would think that's why the printer is defective. Another PLA brand I bought was TIANSE and it prints beautifully, reliably and without clogging. If I'm thinking of upgrading I'll add two more brands (ABS and TPU) if they turn out to be good. My layer temp is 50, nozzle temp 195, speed 50, layer height 0.15 (I'll try 0.1 later for even better prints) This printer was fun, and it's like having my own mechanical printer at home since I I want to use my favorite 3D program and then use the free CURA gcode software included on the SD card to convert it to gcode for my new printer to bring to life. Very happy with this purchase.
