(12/18/2019) My wife and I ordered this pillow because she had a lot of trouble sleeping. Now the term is 23 weeks. We have been using this pillow for 3 nights now. Since sleeping next to her on this pillow I have woken up with severe pain in my neck, tremendous pressure in my head when I tilt my head back and my mouth/throat tastes like gas/oil in my mouth. I've been using ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory) for the past 2 days to relieve the pain/pressure I've been having. It's 2:09 am (Night 3) and I've just removed the pillow from our bedroom, put it in my bag and put the bag outside because we also have a 15 month old in the house who may have been affected by this pillow could be affected. I woke up tonight with my eyes sparkling (tonight only) and my mouth tasting like I've sucked on butter (since we started using that pillow). I don't know what this pillow is made of, but if it has foam in it, that could be what I may be allergic to. Unlike many other people, I am extremely sensitive to what I am exposed to. However, there are a few conditions for this post. 1) I'm not 100% sure if it's a pillow but now I think 80% because it's the only new thing I've come across since I started feeling awful. 2.) Just because you don't have these symptoms doesn't mean that whatever pillow it's made of doesn't emit smoke into the air that you, as a PREGNANT WOMAN, are breathing and potentially exposing your future child. 3.) I am not a medical professional and I am sharing my experience since my wife and I have been using this pillow. I would also like to add that over a year ago my wife and I had to throw out the foam topper because I was experiencing similar symptoms (throat/mouth tastes like sucking oil/petroleum products, nausea, nausea). It took me about a week to feel like myself again after we threw away the mattress topper. I will update this review in a few days or a week+ as we are not currently using the pillow to see if I feel better after the pillow is removed from the house. Unfortunately, the pillow has helped my wife sleep better than she has in the last few months. Comfort 5 stars! Potentially unhealthy 1 star! Time to find another solution for them. Thank you[12/19/2019] Yes, 1000%, it was the pillow that is now called "poison pillow" in our house. After writing the above review, I went back to bed and my wife got up to go to the bathroom. She was gone for quite a while, and I noticed that the air was starting to smell fresher. I took a few deep breaths, thinking the air was fresher, and all I did was remove the pillow. My wife comes back into the bedroom and I smell that pillow again. She climbed into bed and I turned to her and sniffed, amazed at how horribly her hair stank. I said baby you smell like a hardcore pillow we gotta get up and shower, change the sheets and start washing those things asap. She fought because she was very tired, but she said fine. As soon as she got up, I pulled out the bed and turned on the washing machine. When I entered the bathroom, she was sitting in the bathtub in tears. I asked her what happened and she didn't even answer. I just looked at her and noticed that she was tired but looked nervous. I said baby I know it's hard but we need to take a shower and wash the chemicals off you. The smoke from that pillow is all over you and me. She managed to say okay and we showered to wash off the stench. I told her in the shower that she was probably chemically high and might be feeling confused and upset because of it. I said we should flush our body with water and lots of vegetables and fruits and start flushing antioxidants to fight the free radicals in our body from this pillow. After the shower, we changed sheets and pillowcases and drank 24 ounces of water. I still tasted kerosene/oil in my mouth and throat. I used Listerine mouthwash and as long as it was fresh in my mouth I was fine but after a few minutes it was gone and the bad taste came back. My inner mouth and throat were covered with smoke. My wife was pressed into this pillow with a minimum of clothing, allowing for lots of skin-to-skin contact and an inhalation she couldn't even feel. Which surprised me because she sniffs almost everything in front of me. But in this case, I was kind of snooping, but she wasn't. This worries me a lot because it means other people might be in the same danger and not even know about it because their sense of smell doesn't pick it up. Before jumping in the shower I told my wife to give me what she was wearing and I put it in a triple zip bag to seal whatever was on it. Which I know is covered in pillow stench because I won't even touch my face putting it in 3 zip pockets without smelling the pillow again. My wife had to cancel work because she didn't feel well yesterday. This fairly inexpensive pillow cost us a significant amount of dollars and health (who knows what) compared to its advertised price. The pillow is now sitting outside in a garbage bag until we figure out what to do next. My wife was reluctant to go to work today because she still felt poor. Right now I'm feeling a lot better than before and after some chocolate balls, cinnamon Christmas candies and water I was able to get rid of that unpleasant taste/smell coming out of my throat and mouth. Thank God. I don't know what's in that pillow or if glue was used, but whatever made it, it's a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. My wife and I forgive people and trust that the Lord will use this to warn people. So this is your warning. This cushion requires further study to ensure each unit is safe for public use. My wife and I had just graduated from a dietetics degree, and it didn't say anything about chemical vapors that belong to the macro- or micronutrients for a healthy diet. I'm sharing so people know about our qualifications to make such statements. We both got good grades and plan to consult the public on how to build strong, healthy bodies and families in another year. Do yourself and your unborn baby, and everyone else in your family, a favor and find another pillow to curl up next to. You, your family and the unborn child deserve to be safe and healthy. Many blessings from our family to yours. Merry Christmas 2019.
