Purchased to switch out my 970 EVO 500 GB. The original model was flawless, but it lacked adequate loudness. In addition, the drive "mileage" for the year was around 5 TB, and people freely used the system, swapped out drives, and reinstalled their playthings. You won't notice the difference in speed (SLC - there is a cache everywhere), but the volume will tighten up much later, leading to the following conclusion: for residential use, a QLC twice as large for the same money would be perfectly adequate.
