My entire review is based on comparing this TL7910 to an older TL7610 that I have used for many years. The first thing you need to know is that the claims "works with Voip" are simply not true. The AT&T software for this headset, which is required for voice control features, does not support regular VoIP. It only works with Lync and Skype. (plus obviously a landline) Cannot connect to another SIP/Voip service. The software is pretty simple. It has a phone book, Skype/Lync controls and an Outlook CSV import wizard. I found the language selection function quite successful. Even if you give the name exactly as it is in the phone book, the correct name will only be registered about 60% of the time. The rest of the time it spits out 3 possible matches, 2 of which usually don't match what you said. He then reads each one to you and makes you wait until he finishes all 3 before you can say which one you want. And if that contact has more than one number, they'll read each location for you, so you'll have to wait again for the process to complete before "listening" for your answer. Don't start a conversation until the second call. And I still couldn't get him to respond with a voice command. My biggest issue with it is the earhook. I've had the TL7610 for years and am very happy with how it fits. The loop on it is soft and reclines so anyone can put the headset on. This "upgraded" model has a fixed loop, so you have to tug on it to stretch it for a year. Although I had several different sizes of loops and earbuds, I couldn't find a comfortable combination back then either. Not even for a few minutes at a time. It now comes with headbands and if you want a full headset these are great. But I prefer the simplicity of the earhook, and AT&T really screwed up this one. After only 2 weeks I sent it back. The TL7610 is still sold under the "Marathon" model name. It has no talking caller ID or software/softphone. But it sounds great and is way more convenient than this.
