This groomer does what it says on the tin. It cuts amazingly and consistently every time. Blades and other inserts are useful for all types of grooming, from mustaches and eyebrows to full beards. This allows me to trim different parts of my beard to different lengths without anyone getting any the wiser. And with the fine micro trimming tips, you can reach the smallest parts of your face and cut off everything that is bothering you. And although it makes noise, it's the quietest trimmer I've ever owned. When I bought this I wondered for a while if I really had to pay more for all the metal instead of the plastic. I was particularly concerned when I read that many reviewers complained about rusting on the heads. I obviously went with this metal groomer and am so glad I did. It runs very smoothly and (almost*) never had a problem with it. He is now three years old and still works and cuts like new; I can't say that about any of the plastic predecessors I've had. And rust is not a problem - the reason is simple: I followed Val's instructions and once a month lubricated the cutting parts with a small amount of oil; it lasts about 75 seconds and that's all I do. No evidence of rust.* "Almost". The part of the razor where it charges also prevents the trimmer from being accidentally started when travelling, so you don't risk opening your case and finding your trimmer dead. For some reason my sensor sometimes thinks the groomer is in drive mode when it isn't, which of course prevents me from using it. I found a workaround by wiggling the sensor. After doing this a few times over the past few months (a bit disappointing) I called Val who offered to send me a new groomer even though it's no longer under warranty. They clearly endorse their product.
