I'm deducting a star because the shoes have a strong chemical smell. I couldn't find on the website if these shoes are machine washable but I took a chance. After soaking them in water and detergent for 30 minutes, I rinsed them and tumble dried them. The smell is gone. Aside from this hiccup, the shoes are very soft, survived the dryer just fine. The bottom of the shoe is great for walking on cold hardwood floors, but is best for dinosaurs. My daughter has been crazy about them lately and I'm sure like every other kid in the house she is growling and trying to feed them with her food toys, and sticks her finger in her trap and pretends she's been bitten. Overall, not only are they very useful as slippers, but they are also a lot of fun for my little one.
