Review on Fairtex Microfiber Military Sparring Training by Eric Aulia

very well made gloves - make sure you choose the right model for you

I have mixed feelings about the BGV-14. After hearing and reading many positive and rave reviews about the Fairtex gloves, I purchased these 16 ounce gloves for more protection for myself and if and when I get training partners. When looked at they look great: you will immediately understand why people like them. They also feel like they'll last forever: I haven't found any flaws and they seem to be as durable as can be. But for me, the comfort isn't great: my thumbs hurt from the first use and every time after, whether I use bandages or not, and the padding on the face feels very thin and causes pain in the joints (less so with capes) . Maybe this is what real boxers (not like me who just want good total body exercise) call the "Puncher's Glove": although I'd be a little concerned about actually hitting someone with it. I would also like to see some vents on the palm to match those on the thumb to dissipate heat. The Amazon listing brings together several different models and you can browse the size and color options (numerous and impressive) but not every model is in every color and I didn't know I ordered the BGV14 until I received it and with others checked online (there is no model number on the glove itself). Others who turned 14 made the same comments I did. I admit that I look for cheaper options, and I buy one of these partly because of the price (prices for different models and colors can vary by more than $50). Therefore, I would advise the buyer to try to determine exactly what model you are getting and make sure it suits you best. You may find this model perfect, but I must try to break mine in slowly and carefully.
