, I already have a wireless router with gateway 192.168.1.1 (quite common in the industry). It is technically forbidden to have two separate Wi-Fi networks using the same gateway as conflicts will occur! Velop uses this by default too, but obviously they anticipated this scenario and came up with an alternative configuration that solves this problem. The trick to fixing this is to reset the master node after it's set up for the first time; Press and hold the reset button until the LED starts flashing red rapidly, then release. The Velop will now set its gateway to the 10.17.XXX.1 subnet, allowing you to coexist with both devices. Note that the third octet (XXX) appears to be configured randomly, as I have another octet elsewhere that has its XXX network segment configured to different numbers. One of the requirements for setting up and installing a Velop mesh system is a smartphone with the LinkSys app installed. With this app you can set up and manage your Velop nodes in multiple locations. However, to gain full administrator access to Velop, you must use a computer browser configured with the master node's gateway address (192.168.XXX.1 or 10.17.XXX.1, depending on configuration). You can use your phone app to view the gateway address and then connect it to a browser. By default and following the normal Velop SSID setting, it will be presented as a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz device. One thing you may come across when connecting devices to Velop WiFi is when they can only connect to the 2.4GHz band. In this case you will have to enter the web browser at the gateway address, enter the password and then in the WiFi section, reconfigure the Velop to use two separate SSIDs, one marked the 2.4 GHz band and the other is labeled for the 5 GHz band. Once this is done, your device will correctly detect and connect to the 2.4GHz SSID.
