Good if you just need a cheap shoe bench

This bench will serve us well as a cheap temporary piece of furniture in the home. It's fairly durable and comfortable to sit on, and it can easily hold six pairs of shoes. My daughter has been using it every day for over a month now and has no complaints. However, it is cheap and the assembly instructions are poorly written. I have found it helpful to keep all fasteners fairly loose and only tighten them after all parts except the seat are assembled. During assembly I also had to remove the outer silver slats from the center shelf to attach the metal slats of the seat post (not mentioned in the instructions). The bench didn't seem level at this point, but it leveled out after I attached the seat. Most annoying is that there are no pre-drilled holes to mount the seat; All I had to do was look at the location of the metal structure on the underside of the seat. I used a drill to hold the seat and metal structure together with the screws provided. (I'd recommend using a drill; I definitely don't want to attach the seat by hand.) Other cons: It won't stand up to taller boots, and cat's claws easily damage the seat cushion. For us it serves its purpose perfectly, but I assume that it will end up in the goodwill or the bin in the next few years.
