I bought this to replace a Maeva which has served me well for many years. I switched for 2 reasons. There was always one filter that wasn't sealed properly each month and the charcoal was scattered all over the packaging. Second. While I'm not concerned about lead, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try Pur.Boy. mineral deposits! I'm at a well so I'm expecting hard water. But that! Mineral buildup begins to corrode the bottom of my kettle immediately after the first pot of boiled water of the day. At Maeva, I didn't get any minerals until the filter was almost done. About 3 weeks or so. I don't expect the filter to get its full life since it's in a well. But. Immediately funny. I also wonder if EVERYTHING filters EVERYTHING. I wouldn't even mind extremely slow filtering if it were working properly. However, I don't have to clean the kettle every morning. Basically. Order another Maeva mug today.
