Necessary security provided - satisfied

I bought two 30GB Aegis Secure Key 3.0 drives in 2017 and they have been working flawlessly for almost three years. I needed security and reliability, and both drives provided it. I've used them with XP and Win 10 machines. Due to the nature of my data I can't afford to lose due to hard drive failure hence two hard drives. One is a backup, a mirror image of the other. And as some have noted, sometimes they seem to get very hot, but usually they don't. If they do, I let it cool before replacing the protective metal cap. I don't know, but I'm wondering if the heat is related to the internal charge level of the built-in battery when inserted (e.g. it gets a bit warm with a long charge cycle). I'm also wondering if the heat is related to data transfer. No matter what I use them with, the occasional higher heat doesn't seem to matter. I would buy again without hesitation.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Requires a power outlet
