Review on 📻 Omix-Ada 17214.02 Black Radio Antenna for Enhanced SEO by Matt Minette

This did not directly replace the original antenna in my '88 Jeep Wrangler. But my research shows that AMC used different antennas and a replica of my original is probably not available anywhere. Not a big deal, but I had to drill some new holes so buyers should be prepared for that possibility. The antenna is installed and working, the reception has improved, so I'm happy with the installation. Only 3 stars from me due to the poor performance of the manufacturer. The base of the antenna must be well grounded to the vehicle body. The car repair manual even shows tests to prove it. But this base is painted on all surfaces and there is no other way to ground it other than the 3 screws holding it in place. But with everything that's being painted, it won't be a good playground. Even the inner surface of the coaxial connector has been varnished. I had to scrape off a lot of paint to get a good primer. Probably most people not knowing would just install it and suffer from poor reception. I think I would recommend using the chrome version of this antenna and then you can paint the exposed surfaces if you want a black finish. Otherwise, the antenna, base, mast and cable are well made.
