Review on 🌍 Monster Power Outlets To Go 200 Global Adapter: Your Essential Travel Companion for Worldwide Power Connectivity by Trevor Garrett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best travel adapter I've seen

First, ignore the other review that this adapter doesn't work with G-type plugs in the UK/Ireland - it works perfectly. Check out the photo I uploaded to confirm this. This travel adapter is incredibly compact compared to all other global adapters I've seen (single region adapters are obviously much smaller), and you can only connect one device at a time. During a recent two-week holiday to Germany, France, the UK and Ireland, this adapter worked great, charging all five devices we took with us: two iPhones, a Nexus tablet, a Nook and a Canon PowerShot camera. When luggage space is tight, the size was a big help. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other adapters I've seen at Revain (although about the same as what I've seen at the airport or in gift shops on the trip), but the compactness and the ability to connect 3 devices makes it worth it it is. If you're traveling to both the UK and mainland Europe with more than one device I'd recommend this from what I've seen. Heck, even if you're just carrying a single device, I'd consider it because it's smaller than any other global single device adapter I've seen. Even if you are a frequent traveller. However, this is not exactly a 5 star item. A few downsides: - The USB port doesn't deliver enough power to charge some devices (mostly tablets/e-readers) - It makes a faint but annoying hiss when plugged in - probably due to the transformer for the USB charger - Thin EU socket pins seem to bend a bit - a little cantilevering into EU sockets: plugging in a heavy AC/DC box seems to bend or break the pins, but I didn't try - a bit difficult to get the plugs in the front outlet (best to plug everything in and then plug the adapter into the wall) - Overall build quality feels a little cheap - No grounding - although I can't think of anything that would travel with a different three-pronged plug on a laptop that I usually have at home lasse (you can connect it in front, it just won't be grounded)
