I still love this product. I've been ordering this for my canaries since May and back in June. However, today I noticed that there was no seed coat in the waste bowl. When I looked closely, I noticed that there were no seeds in the "feeder" part. Apparently, the small chaff from the seed penetrates downwards and can clog the hole that allows the bird to peck at the seed, allowing the seed to continually sink to the bottom. Maybe because I emptied the last packet of seeds, gravity pulled all the chaff down and I didn't notice. The seed wasn't bad, and the feeder isn't bad - it's just a combination of events that you need to be aware of and monitor daily to make sure they're still "feeding". In the first image, at the arrowhead, you can see the accumulation of chaff impeding the flow. When I poured everything out to study, there was no moisture causing any of these problems - everything was dry, good seeds and chaff. Behind the arrow in the first picture you can see the "packed" seed behind the blockage. The second picture shows that there are no seeds in the "feeder" shell, another thing that got me alarmed. She was only 1 day with this situation, so no damage done. I just wanted you to know what to look for to ensure your bird has the food it needs. :)
