Review on Nekmit Leather Desk Blotter Pad - 36X20 Inches, Non-Slip, Waterproof Surface For A Classy Workspace by Gregory Castellanos

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good initial impression

I bought the Nekmit pad to replace a different one, very much the same in appearance, but showing wear after a couple of years. It was made by Satechi and purchased from Ebay. The main differences between the two mats are: the Nekmit is leather, while the Satechi is synthetic, and the Nekmit has a no-slip backing while the Satechi did not and was constantly sliding around on the desk. The appearances of the two are quite similar, but the Nekmit surface has somewhat less gloss. Both are attractive and functional, but the non-slip backing of the Nekmit makes it the winner for me. The Satechi wore reasonably well, but was quite frayed around the edges after a couple of years. I'm hoping for durable performance from the Nekmit, but only time will tell. Although it is leather, I seriously doubt that it is high-quality leather, although it has an impressive appearance.

Pros
  • Provides a barrier between the desk and any harsh chemicals or spills
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use with all types of office furniture
