Review on LEGO Power Functions Motor 8883 by Donald Waller
Excellent motor for engineering assemblies
I am replacing my early 80's Set# 8700 motor which has seen better days. My solution boiled down to the PF-M and PF-L engines. Ultimately this is for my 5 year old (and me lol) so I'll start with M. I love it and my son loves it. It's very powerful for its size and ideal for entry-level applications - its power is almost too much for simple creations, but over time you can unleash its full potential. I also like that the M motor has a bottom plate that can be used to connect bricks (in addition to the holes for a non-spiked design).
