THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THIS TIMER OFF!?

Discussed with support about disabling the twist timer. The manager tells me there is no way to do this. The Twist Timer has a design flaw that not only drains your battery constantly since you can never turn it off, but also causes image retention as the timer stays at 00:00 for a long time. I was told if I wanted to turn it off I would have to remove the battery after EVERY use. That's the craziest thing I've ever heard.
