It's worth it. Just do a little research beforehand.
The spikes are amazing. I have made two pairs of golf shoes so far and am very impressed with them. They hold up well on paved roads, although I wouldn't recommend doing it too often. Just make sure you have enough padding between your legs and the screws. If it's too thin, you'll feel the screws dig into your feet and hate your new golf shoes. Vans, Chucks and other similar style shoes are not suitable for them. I mainly use Nike basketball shoes for the rubber outsole and also for the cushioning. They also look their wildest on the golf course. Take your time installing and enjoy!
