I bought this in September for our planned tree house. Two months later (dad wasn't the most conscientious builder on the schedule) we've just completed the treehouse's floor platform, which sits 10 feet off the ground. This ladder will be just right. . Except it's a six-foot ladder. At the top he has four feet of extra rope. This is perfect for letting my child walk 2/3 of the way to their amazing tree house. Perhaps this could be a bitter life lesson for him. Or a way for him to work on his vertical jump under dangerous circumstances. It's a 10 foot ladder in the same world I'm a 9 1/2 foot NBA center. The ladder works to climb something no more than 7 feet high. It has six steps spaced about 14 inches apart and then a loop of rope coming from there. It's behind a back window, so I could use a closet rod to add a few more steps, but I think the floor will still be about two feet off the ground.
