As other reviewers have pointed out the backs are small but I have absolutely no dexterity and was able to put them on easily. They are very comfortable (and I usually have trouble sleeping with studs on) and the stand is long enough for my large adult ears. It would be nice if the stem was a bit thicker, but this is the case with all real gold earrings. I've had them for a week now and they're still as beautiful and durable as ever and the back hasn't come loose. Sorry for the horrible ear selfie - I didn't realize how hard it is to take a good photo.
