I've been making quality audio equipment for 30 years. Yes, 30 years old. I have a $40,000 system at home and it sounds great. I bought the Atom for the second room in my house thinking it would be good for background music. At $3,300, how could it even come close to my $26,000 reference integrated device? Well the Atom was hooked up to Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers and I was blown away. The sound quality from this Naim is closer to a $10,000 integrated than a $3,300 integrated. In fact, I wrote a review and stated that this would be my "Product of the Decade". It does everything so well and offers amazing design, superb build quality, ease of use and I can stream it all in high quality, high definition, DSD or plug in a USB stick and play music that way. I can (and do) use it with Roon, and with its huge 5 inch screen and Class A/B amplification, it far beats its price. The DAC is very special, as is the volume control, which only exudes high quality. I looked at so many termination amps, speakers, cables, etc. About Hugh I would say this Atom with cheap $25 speaker wire and these Klipsch Cornwall IVs are in the top 3 systems I have heard or owned.
