Perfect for Smash Bros

After playing the SSB4 3DS demo for hours, I had no issues with comfort or trigger pull with this grip. That was the biggest fear I had when buying it. I've heard some people complain about having trouble accessing the shoulder buttons, but this can be remedied by simply wrapping your middle fingers around the lugs attached to the grip itself and placing your index fingers on the L and R. I've also heard people complain that they have trouble even with that, which seriously confuses me. My index fingers don't have a problem as long as my hands are in that position. You don't have to reach far and my thumbs rest perfectly on the front of the 3DS. Additionally, my index fingers allow for precise use of shields and grips, as well as quick data entry while my hands are in this position. I've never had any issues with quick typing or accuracy when using this grip. In addition, this handle improves the ergonomics of the 3DS significantly. The 3DS has the ergonomics of a brick and thankfully this grip enhances that. For example, XL angles tend to put my arms to sleep digging into my palms. With this grip, however, the 3DS fits nicely in my palms and I've never had an issue with numbness in my hands. It also improves ergonomics as your hand can grip more. So if you have longer thumbs, they don't have to bend as much to press the keys. Overall, this is a great grip, especially for shots. I've never had any trouble pressing the shoulder buttons and I've never had any trouble with precision. The grip offers complete control and improves the ergonomics of the XL. I really think it comes down to personal preference, but unless you have giant monkey hands, this grip is perfect for hitting (and other games).
