My Genie garage door would not close when the receiver's sensor was lit. I read online that older sensors often fail and become sensitive to light. I purchased and installed these new Genie Safe-T-Beam sensors and the issue has been resolved. Now even the brightest morning light that falls directly on the sensors does not cause any problems and the door closes reliably. Replacing the sensor couldn't be easier. It reuses existing cables, just unscrew the old connections and screw them in the same place. The wires are not polarized so they can be connected to the sensors in any order. Plus, the transmit and receive sensors are interchangeable depending on which side of the garage door they're on, so you don't have to worry about which to put where.
