Routes from the headrest clamp to the seat base. It's for storage only, so don't expect to throw a 32-ounce water bottle at it. Pens, lighters, backpacks, small notebooks and more - that's what it's made for. This is perfect for my use when storing things I want to keep out of my glove box and cup holders that I use frequently like lipstick and pens. You know the little things that get lost at the bottom of the glove box and center console.
