Review on Immersion Stainless Including Attachments Dishwasher by Beth Westra

Everything is good but weird texture

After reading the rave reviews I bought this hand blender. I used to use Oster until it broke, then Braun from a friend. The hand blender is one of my favorite kitchen tools, so I have pretty high expectations for it. This one is, well, no big deal. But I will look around for another model as soon as possible. What I like: * Lots of speeds - 12 options for normal and turbo speeds. * Quiet * Blades are deep so there is virtually no spatter * Ergonomics are good - no wrist pain, good weight, easy to hold and maneuver * Small blue light signals when dipstick is plugged in * Snaps on blender, chopper easily and snap attachments Whisk * Whisk to whip fluffy eggs quickly and quietly! What I didn't like: * The hand blender's blade cover is stainless steel, so it can't be used in non-stick or Le Creuset. It's also questionable in my grandmother's stainless steel pots. Long enough to make creamy soups or spaghetti sauces.* Chopper does not grind finely. Particularly noticeable when preparing a mango lassi smoothie. Grainy texture = uncomfortable* The whisk bowl is small and has no rubber bottom. That means I could crack a maximum of three eggs (the fourth egg spilled the whole counter). Since there is no rubber bottom, the container must be held tightly - I mean tightly - when hitting. The milk frother is difficult to remove. I thought it would break. Also, it froths the latte milk for a short time (e.g. 30 seconds), weird texture again. I will again pour cold milk into a small IKEA French Press and froth the milk that way. My conclusion: There are better models. I go back to my cheaper plastic knife sheath from Oster. With this and my current Cuisinart/Toastmaster kitchen grinders, Oster tabletop blender and IKEA French Press I get the smooth textures I want and save pots!
