This device offers 16-bit CD-quality digitization at 44 kHz and seamless connectivity with Windows and macOS operating systems. I was a guest on a podcast and my previous microphone was reported by an audio engineer. I ordered this and his immediate reaction to the sound was "Wow". In addition to a really good sound quality, it has a thoughtful and unique design. This is a one piece piece, the mic body slides out of the base and tucks into it when not in use. It comes with a zippered hard case to keep it safe and clean. (Microphones are sensitive pieces of technology.) The base attaches to your laptop screen or can stand firmly on your desk. There is a switch with three options to choose the sound recording scheme. Omnidirectional is simply a broad radiation pattern that picks up all sounds in the room. Cardioid is more directional (and cuts off the bass a bit). There's also a slightly damped (damped) cardioid setting that reduces clipping when you're speaking loudly or listening to loud noises. The status light on the front of the microphone is solid green when connected to a computer and flashes red when the microphone is saturated. practically. No software is required for this device and you don't have to worry about batteries or power supply. Simply connect it to your computer's USB2/USB3 port with the included cable. My Mac has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports, so I bought a separate USB-C to mini-USB cable (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L37R89D) to connect a direct to enable connection. Good quality shielded cable avoids noise. The work was immediate and flawless. The audio input options for Windows and macOS offer a few simple tweaks, but I didn't need to touch them. This microphone works great with teleconferencing software like Zoom and Skype, and podcasting software like Zencaster. BTW, like me, you can keep using your existing headphones or headset because every software I've tried allows you to independently select the mic and headset. .Thanks to its compact size and pleasing performance, this device is now part of my travel gear and besides podcast interviews I will be using it for Zoom sessions, Skype and the like. Maybe I'll get "Wow" too!
