High-quality hub with many options

I often get nervous about third party technology, but again I've had no luck with several well known brands of Mac hubs. So I was definitely curious enough to try this option. So far I have been very happy with this Arkidyn hub. The overall shape is clearly inspired by the Mac Mini. It's about 5.25 inches square and 1.25 inches tall, so it's actually smaller than the Mac Mini. On my desk, it fits nicely next to a laptop stand, giving me access to TF and SD card slots, a USB-C port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a headphone/mic combo jack. I didn't use the TF or SD card slots, but I did use the USB-C and USB-A ports to connect or charge various devices. Most of my devices are plugged into the back of the hub. I use an HDMI port, a USB-C port and a USB-A 3.0 port and they all work great for me. I only have two criticisms of this hub.1. Apparently it's meant for use with a MacBook Pro as it comes with a large port that uses TWO USB-C ports on the side of the laptop. That's fine except the fork they provide is quite large. It's bigger than the laptop, so it looks a bit ugly. Also, it has a very thick cable that sticks out quite a bit. If you want to place the monitor next to the laptop, you need to leave space for the cable between them. I think it would be better if the cable was connected from the back instead of the side. (The attached image shows how cumbersome this is.) 2. There are surprisingly few USB-C ports for a modern hub. There is only one in the back and one in the front. For a device that itself occupies 2 of my USB-C ports, I would like to have more USB-C ports to use with other devices. This hub works very well too! No interference with a connected display. No problem with connected camera or microphone. I'm happy! I can recommend this as a worthy alternative to well-known brands. I hope this review was helpful to you!
