Leaves mark on fabric after wash

I had high hopes for these chalks and they do glide well. However, we used one on dark purple fabric and even after wash, it leaves a very visible mark showing through the other side of the fabric like an oil stain. I haven't tried applying stain remover on the fabric again to see if that will erase the mark. If you are using these chalks for the first time, might want to use on scrap fabric and run through a wash/dry cycle first.

Yellow chalk bled through the fabric ruining my project! 😡
