It looks curved in the product photo. The lid is not curved, it sits on the edge in the photo. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the lid is used to collect popcorn. The lid actually fits a couple of inches into the bowl. There are several popcorn recipes in the instructions. I really like popcorn, especially homemade popcorn. I prefer homemade popcorn to microwave popcorn, which is always too salty. My first use of the Kubung popper was delicious: I placed 1 tablespoon of coconut oil mixed with about 1/8 teaspoon of salt in a silicone bowl and melted it in. Then I added 1/4 cup popcorn, stirred to coat the kernels, covered and set a timer for 3 minutes. I listened until the clapping slowed and carefully removed the bowl and lid using the handles. , let the popcorn cool a bit and shared with the family. Everyone liked it. The top layer of popcorn was a bit chewy, the rest was crispy like popcorn should be. I'm wondering if there was any steam buildup beforehand? I removed the lid and the top layer got wet. I took out the popcorn too early. There was a teaspoon or two of unroasted grains. Nothing burned. The bowl was thin for eating, reminded me of silicone cupcake holders.
